Small Groups for Adults
Small Groups
The kitchen table is a close, personal space. Our small groups are the next step
for those who are looking to develop deeper relationships with God and others.
A small group is integral in helping a person become a growing follower of Jesus
Christ. A small group environment is where we can “be real” and help one another
on our spiritual journeys.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see people, from the core of our church to the ever-growing
community, connected in a healthy small group.
A Small Group is 2-12 people who come together on a regular basis for a common
purpose and are led by an identified leader who is assisting them in their next
step as growing disciples by providing an environment for connection and
spiritual transformation.
Biblical Basis for Small Groups
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the
breaking of bread and to prayer. Every day they continued to meet together in
the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad
and sincere hearts. Acts 2:42, 46
Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped
teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. Acts 5:42
Types of Small Groups
Impact Group – A small group of 3-12 people that helps people
authentically grow in worship, evangelism, fellowship, Christlike character, and
ministry. Impact Groups are entry level groups facilitated by a host that meet
for seven weeks following a church-wide theme. Many Impact groups decide to
continue meeting and become ongoing small groups.
Christ Life Solution - A small group that focuses on biblical change by
renewing our minds, changing our thinking patterns. The process takes place in
three consecutive phases. Phase 1 deals with the past (13 weeks), Phase 2 deals
with god in the present (13 weeks) and Phase 3 deals with the future (26 weeks).
Each group is offered in the fall, winter and summer. Contact John and Laura
Pelechek at 298-9920.
Other Small Group Environments
Women’s Studies and Small Groups - New women’s studies and groups begin
each January, June and September. These smaller groups allow women to connect and
discuss Biblical truth in a supportive environment. A variety of study choices
and styles are offered on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings. Childcare is
provided for those who pre-register for the Thursday morning studies. Contact
Gina Green at 395-0021 for more information.
Men’s Fraternity - This is a 24-session study that focuses on the primary
issues that shape a man’s life. Each DVD teaching session is followed by a time
of interaction and discussion. New men are always welcome. For more information,
you can visit our Men's Fraternity page.
Next Step
Here are some “next steps” if you are interested in becoming part of a kitchen
table, small group environment, but don’t know where to start.
Our church wide seven-week Impact Groups are launched each February and October. You can join an existing, open small group.
